I have made this recipe so many times and the end results always a knockout. I have taken these brownies to playdates, served them barbecue parties, even served them at the end of a sit-down dinner on a warm sizzling plate with some ice cream and chocolate sauce. This recipe never disappoints. I can tell you one thing, if you bake these brownies for your next shindig, you might be the person everyone wants to hang out with 😊
Total Time - 50 mins
Active Time - 15 mins
Yields - 8" pan
INGREDIENTS
- 8 tablespoons (115g) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 170g semi sweet/bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup Dulce de Leche
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper making sure there is an overhang. This will help as handles to release the brownies.
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a big glass bowl on a double boiler until the chocolate is melted. Mix the two until combines with a spatula.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the sieved cocoa powder, until smooth.
- Fold in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sugar, vanilla, then the flour gently. Do not over mix the batter.
- Scrape half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drop two-third of the Dulce de Leche, using a cookie scoop or tablespoon. Swirl and spread the dulce de leche scoops a little. Don’t over mix or make a thin layer of the dolce de leche.
- Spread the remaining brownie batter on top, then drop scoops of the remaining Dulce de Leche over the top of the brownie batter. Swirl and spread again.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The brownies are done when the center feels just-slightly firm.
